NORTH BATTLEFORD RESTAURANT GUILTY OF FAILING TO PROVIDE PAYROLL RECORDS

101008494 Saskatchewan Ltd, operating as Venice House Restaurant in North Battleford, was found guilty of two charges under The Labour Standards Act in North Battleford Provincial Court on May 6.

The corporation was charged with two counts of failure to provide payroll records under Section 66 of the Act.  They received a $200 fine and $50 surcharge for each count, for a total of $500 in fines.  The corporation had been required to provide payroll records to Labour Standards by August 1, 2012.

The Labour Standards Division of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety supports fair and equitable workplace practices through public awareness and enforcement of The Labour Standards Act and regulations as well as other labour legislation.  Whenever necessary, violators will be prosecuted.
