At noon on Friday, July 4, the Government of Saskatchewan is opening a regional flood recovery centre at the Horizon Credit Union Centre, 575 2nd Avenue West, Melville.

“Staff from Government of Saskatchewan ministries and agencies will be at the regional recovery centre to provide onsite access to information, programs and services to those affected by recent flooding,” Minister of Government Relations Jim Reiter said.  “I encourage those impacted by flooding to come to the recovery centre so that we can help you through this situation.”

The regional flood recovery centre will include representatives from: 

  • Emergency Management and Fire Safety, 
  • Building Standards, 
  • The Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP), 
  • The ministries of Social Services, Health, Agriculture, 
  • SaskPower, 
  • Water Security Agency, and  
  • The Canadian Red Cross.

SaskEnergy, Mennonite Disaster Services and other non-government organizations will also have information available at the centre.

The centre will be open: 

  • Friday, July 4 from noon until 9:00 p.m.; 
  • Saturday, July 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and 
  • Sunday, July 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  

The centre is open to all residents, small businesses, agricultural operations, community and nonprofit organizations that have experienced flooding issues.
